These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of RedFox Illustra (“Illustra”), provided by RedFox AI Technologies (“RedFox AI”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By accessing or using Illustra, you agree to these Terms.

1 About RedFox Illustra

RedFox Illustra is a browser-based scientific illustration and figure creation application designed for creating, editing, arranging, and exporting scientific figures and illustrations.

Illustra may provide tools for:

• Creating scientific figures and illustrations
• Searching and using available scientific illustration elements
• Editing, arranging, resizing, cropping, and modifying elements
• Recolouring and disassembling supported illustration elements
• Creating and saving drafts
• Exporting figures in supported formats
• Managing workspace and application preferences
• Accessing optional account and authentication features

Features may vary between versions of Illustra and may be updated over time.

2 Eligibility and Acceptable Use

You may use Illustra for lawful purposes, including academic, educational, research, professional, and other legitimate activities.

You agree not to:

• Use Illustra for unlawful purposes.
• Attempt to interfere with or compromise the operation or security of Illustra.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Illustra, its systems, or infrastructure.
• Misuse, exploit, reverse engineer, or circumvent technical restrictions of the application.
• Use Illustra to infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties.
• Use the application in a manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the service.

3 Accounts and Authentication

Illustra may provide optional account authentication through Google Sign-In or other authentication methods supported by the application.

You may use Illustra without signing in where the available version of the application permits.

If you choose to sign in, limited account information may be processed to authenticate your account and provide account-related functionality. This may include information such as your name, email address, and other basic information made available through the selected authentication provider.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity conducted through your account.

Using an account does not transfer ownership of your scientific illustrations or other original work to RedFox AI Technologies.

4 Your Content

You retain ownership of the original scientific figures, illustrations, compositions, and other content that you create using Illustra, subject to any rights or licences applicable to third-party materials included in your work.

RedFox AI Technologies does not claim ownership of your original work solely because you created it using Illustra.

In the current version of Illustra, your drawings, illustrations, and drafts are intended to remain within the application’s local storage environment and are not collected or stored by RedFox AI Technologies as part of the normal editing process.

Where the application provides account-related features, signing in does not by itself transfer your drawings or figure content to RedFox AI Technologies.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of important projects and exported files.

5 Third-Party Illustrations and Licences

Illustra includes scientific illustration resources obtained from third-party sources and open-licensed collections.

These resources may be subject to licences such as CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC0, MIT, BSD, or other applicable licences.

Third-party artwork may be adapted, modified, recoloured, resized, cropped, disassembled, or combined within Illustra where permitted by the applicable licence.

When publishing, distributing, or otherwise using a figure containing third-party artwork, you are responsible for complying with the applicable licence and attribution requirements.

Where required, you should:

• Provide appropriate attribution.
• Identify the applicable licence.
• Indicate when artwork has been modified or adapted, where required.
• Comply with any additional conditions of the applicable licence.

Illustra may provide attribution and licence information for applicable resources to assist users in meeting these requirements.

6 Exported Figures

Illustra may allow users to export figures in formats such as SVG, PNG, and JPEG, as supported by the application.

Exporting a figure does not automatically transfer ownership of third-party artwork to you.

You are responsible for ensuring that the intended use, publication, distribution, or commercial use of an exported figure complies with all applicable third-party licences.

Where applicable, attribution information may be included or made available to assist with proper attribution.

7 Intellectual Property

The Illustra application, including its software, interface, logos, original graphics, text, designs, branding, and other materials created or provided by RedFox AI Technologies, is owned by or licensed to RedFox AI Technologies unless otherwise stated.

RedFox Illustra and related RedFox AI Technologies branding may not be copied, reproduced, modified, or used in a manner that suggests unauthorized affiliation or endorsement without permission.

Third-party artwork, illustrations, icons, and other materials remain the property of their respective owners and are used according to their applicable licences.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of RedFox AI Technologies’ intellectual property or third-party intellectual property to you.

8 Privacy and User Data

RedFox AI Technologies respects the privacy of Illustra users.

Scientific drawings, illustrations, and drafts created using Illustra are not collected or used by RedFox AI Technologies for advertising, artificial intelligence training, or unrelated purposes.

Optional authentication information, including information associated with Google Sign-In, may be processed only as necessary to provide authentication and account-related functionality.

9 Application Availability and Changes

Illustra is provided as an evolving software application.

We may modify, update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features or portions of Illustra at any time.

We do not guarantee that Illustra will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Features, supported file formats, authentication methods, storage mechanisms, and third-party resources may change as the application develops.

10 Scientific and Medical Disclaimer

Illustra is a scientific illustration and figure creation tool.

Illustra does not provide:

• Medical diagnosis
• Medical advice
• Treatment recommendations
• Clinical decisions
• Professional medical services

Users are responsible for reviewing the accuracy, scientific validity, and suitability of figures created using Illustra before using them in research, education, publications, presentations, websites, or other materials.

The availability of an illustration or scientific element within Illustra does not constitute an endorsement of its scientific or medical accuracy.

11 User Responsibility and Backups

You are responsible for reviewing and verifying your figures before publication or distribution.

Because drafts and preferences may be stored locally in your browser or application environment, RedFox AI Technologies cannot guarantee the preservation of locally stored data if browser storage is cleared, the application is removed, the device is damaged or reset, or other local data is lost.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of important projects and exported files.

12 Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, RedFox AI Technologies will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or other damages arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, Illustra.

This includes, where permitted by applicable law, loss of locally stored drafts, projects, exported files, data, or other work resulting from device failure, browser storage loss, software errors, application changes, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

13 Third-Party Services

Illustra may use or integrate with third-party services, including authentication providers such as Google.

Your use of a third-party service may also be subject to that provider’s own terms and privacy policies.

RedFox AI Technologies is not responsible for the independent operation, availability, or policies of third-party services.

14 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to Illustra, our services, or applicable legal requirements.

When changes are made, the “Last updated” date at the beginning of these Terms will be updated.

Your continued use of Illustra after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
