Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 29, 2026
RedFox AI Technologies (“RedFox AI”, “we”, “our”,
or “us”) provides RedFox Illustra (“Illustra”), a browser-based scientific
illustration and figure creation application. This Privacy Policy explains how Illustra handles
information when you use the application.
1 Information We Collect
Illustra is designed to operate primarily within your web browser.
In the current version of Illustra:
- Your illustrations and compositions are stored locally in your browser.
- Your drafts and preferences are stored locally in your browser.
- Illustra does not require you to create an account or sign in.
- Illustra does not upload your illustrations to RedFox AI Technologies.
- Illustra does not require your name, email address, or institutional affiliation to create illustrations.
Illustra may provide optional profile fields such as display name, email address, and role or
affiliation. In the current version, information entered into these fields is stored locally on your
device/browser and is used for purposes such as displaying your profile information and providing
attribution information in exported figures.
2 User-Created Content
Illustra allows users to create scientific illustrations and compositions using available
illustration elements.
Your created illustrations, drafts, and related preferences are stored locally in your browser in
the current version of the application. They are not transmitted to or stored on RedFox AI
Technologies’ servers through the current Illustra application.
If you export an illustration, the resulting file is saved or downloaded to your device according
to the options you select.
3 Google Sign-In and Authentication
The current version of Illustra does not require Google Sign-In or user authentication.
If authentication or Google Sign-In is introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be
updated before or when that functionality is introduced to explain what information is collected and
how it is used.
4 Third-Party Illustration Sources
Illustra includes scientific illustration resources obtained from third-party open-licensed
libraries.
Some illustrations may be adapted, modified, recoloured, cropped, resized, disassembled, or
recombined for use within the editor.
Each third-party source remains subject to its applicable licence and attribution requirements.
Users are responsible for complying with the applicable licence requirements when publishing or
distributing figures created using those resources.
Illustra provides attribution and licence information within the application where applicable.
5 Cookies and Local Storage
Illustra may use browser storage technologies, including local storage or similar browser
mechanisms, to save drafts, preferences, workspace settings, and other application data locally on
your device.
These locally stored data are used to provide the application’s functionality and are not, by
themselves, transmitted to RedFox AI Technologies.
6 Data Sharing
RedFox AI Technologies does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Because the current version of Illustra does not require an account and keeps user-created content
locally in the browser, RedFox AI Technologies does not receive or store your illustrations through
the application.
7 Data Security
Illustra is designed to keep user-created content within the user’s browser in the current
version.
However, users should understand that no electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be
completely secure. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their own device and
exported files.
8 Children’s Privacy
Illustra is not specifically directed toward children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the current version of
Illustra.
9 Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Illustra’s features, data practices, or legal
requirements change.
When changes are made, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
